A Structural Engineer is responsible for the design and analysis of the structural components of buildings and other engineered structures. They work with a team of Architects and Engineers to ensure that the structures are safe and compliant with the relevant building codes. Some of the duties and responsibilities of a Structural Engineer include: 

• Designing and analyzing the structural components of buildings and other engineered structures 

• Meeting with clients and other stakeholders to discuss the requirements of the project • Coordinating with other members of the design team 

• Reviewing and commenting on designs prepared by other team members 

• Preparing detailed drawings and specifications 

• Calculating the loads that the structure will be subjected to and designing accordingly • Ensuring compliance with building codes

If you have experience in using AutoCAD, you may be interested in a position as an aluminum draughtsman. 

• This type of draughtsman job involves creating drawings of architectural and engineering designs for metal products.

• As an aluminum draughtsman, you would be responsible for creating drawings that show the shape, size, and tolerances of products made from aluminum.
